Who is TotemGuard?

Welcome to my blog “New Technologies Resources for Teachers”!

Meritxell ViñasMy name is Meritxell Viñas, and I’m a consultant specializing in the use of New Technologies in Education and the author of this blog, “New Technologies Resources for Teachers”.  I am also an Evernote Ambassador for Education and I teach courses  and seminars on how to use Evernote in educational settings. I designed the curriculum  for the course I teach through the Spanish online university UNED, Curso de Competencias Digitales para profesores en la Fundación UNED (Digital Proficiency for Teachers).  I am also a co-founder of  TotemGuard, a technology company based in Barcelona, Spain that specializes in the management of digital classrooms and mobile devices, as well as the management of technical support and network administration.

Within TotemGuard, I have spent over 10 years helping educational institutions to implement new technologies in the classroom, and to manage their networks and IT resources more efficiently.  The goal has been for teachers to be able to forget about the technological problems that are normally associated with the use of new technologies in the classroom so that they can dedicate themselves to what they really enjoy, which is teaching.

I love technology and education, which is why I started the blog Recursos TIC para profesores, (in Spanish) and now New Technologies Resources for Teachers (in English), where I can share information and advice that will help you achieve your educational objectives through the use of new technologies.

Through my articles and ebooks I try to present solutions to common problems in the classroom. I also compile interesting facts about new technologies and above all I strive to present you with original ideas that will motivate your students to learn and to innovate.

I also write articles and appear in interviews with magazines, newspapers and blogs within the educational sector, such as El Mundo, New Europe Technology, Revista CYL, Ser Padres, Radio 9 Valencia’s program “Coses que passen”, Peques y Más and Evernote España among others.

Education can not be excluded from the outside world. Students are exposed to more gadgets and technology than ever and are more motivated to learn when they use them. In the blog I talk about a mobile pedagogy that is continuing to evolve given the high penetration of these devices in our society. 6 reasons to subscribe to this blog by email:
